Announcing ValLimar Jansen and Tom Kendzia

as the MCEA 2010 Convention’s Keynote Speakers!

"We Are A People of Hope: Believing in God's Love"

Feeding the hungry with our own enthusiasm of a faith-centered life is a daunting task, especially when our own well runs dry. Let us remember that God's acts of love are as countless as grains of sand, and we tell the stories of our past that will lead us into a brighter future filled with new hopes.

Blessed with an extraordinary voice, ValLimar Jansen is a highly regarded singer, cantor, and recording artist. She is also a college professor, a leader of worship and prayer, and a workshop presenter at conferences across the United States. ValLimar is currently the National Consultant for Music and Worship and Black Catholic Catechesis for Our Sunday Visitor Curriculum Division.

A national speaker and internationally acclaimed liturgical composer for nearly three decades, Tom Kendzia has fifteen collections of liturgical music published by Oregon Catholic Press. Serving as the Music and Worship Director of East Coast Conference for Religious Education, Tom has been devoted to parish work since 1977 and is currently Music Director at Christ the King Church in Kingston, Rhode Island. Winner of the 2004 Unity Awards for album and song of the year, "The Eyes and Hands of Christ," Tom has recently released two recordings—Make Us One and The Ships that Sailed (OCP). Tom serves as a Music and Liturgy Consultant for Our Sunday Visitor Curriculum Division.

ValLimar Jansen and Tom Kendzia are proudly sponsored by Our Sunday Visitor Curriculum Division. Click on OSV's logo to learn more about the Curriculum Division.

Announcing Lee Nagel as the MCEA 2010 Convention’s Capstone Speaker!

"FEED YOUR HOPES…even if your cupboards are bare!"

Hope is essential to the life of the soul. Besides being a theological virtue, we believe Jesus is our hope. Jesus promises he will be with us until the end of the ages. Nourish your spirit with stories of that promise being fulfilled every day of our lives.

Leland Nagel started his career as a first grade teacher. He is now the executive director of the National Conference of Catechetical Leaders (NCCL) and has held positions at the diocesan and university levels. He is a faith-filled storyteller, a man of deep faith, and a lover of life with an infectious laugh. Lee is an educator by profession, a catechist by vocation, a teacher by trade, and an evangelist by baptism.
